Rachel Anne McAdams

Rachel Anne McAdams was born on the 17th of November 1978 in London (Ontario, Canada) to Sandra Kay (Gale), who works as a nurse along with Lance Frederick McAdams who is a truck driver/furniture movers. She is English--, Welsh- -, Irish--, and Scottish. Rachel became involved with acting when she was a teenager, and, by 13 she was performing in Shakespearean productions in summer theater camp. She later went on to graduate with distinction with a BFA degree in theater from York University. After her debut on the Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson (1998) In 1998, she starred as a co-star on the Canadian TV series Slings and Arrows (2003) A comedy-drama about the trials and travails of the Shakespearean theatre group. She also received the Gemini award for her performance in 2003.Her breakthrough role as Regina George in the hit comedy Mean Girls (2004) instantly catapulted her onto the short list of Hollywood's most sought-after young actresses. In the following film she co-starred with Ryan Gosling as the romantic drama adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' bestseller The Notebook (2004). The Notebook was a huge success in the box office , and was the most loved romantic drama for an audience of young people. McAdams had a meeting with Gosling while filming. They dated through the middle of 2007. McAdams is next in film with comedy Wedding Crashers (2006), the action thriller Red Eye (2004), as well as the holiday-themed drama The Family Stone ((2005)). McAdams also explored independent cinema with Married Life (2007) which premiered at Toronto Film Festival. It also included Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper in addition to Patricia Clarkson. She also starred in the military drama The Lucky Ones (2007) and the newspaper thriller State of Play (2009) and the romantic The Time Traveler's Wife (2009) followed before she starred alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in Guy Ritchie's international blockbuster Sherlock Holmes (2009). McAdams was the shrewd producer of a failing morning TV show in Morning Glory (2010), the romantic fiancee of materialistic Owen Wilson in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris (2011) as well as a return to romantic drama with the hit film The Vow (2012) opposite Channing Tatum. The actress also stars with Ben Affleck in Terrence Malick's To the Wonder (2012) and alongside Noomi Rapace in Brian de Palma's thriller Passion (2012).In 2005, McAdams received ShoWest's "Supporting Actress of the Year" Award in addition to the "Breakthrough Actress of the Year" at the Hollywood Film Awards
