Dolly Rebecca Parton

Dolly Rebecca Parton was created on the 19th of January, 1946, in Pittman Center (Tennessee). She was born to Avie Lee Parton and Robert Lee Parton in Sevierville. Parton is a housewife and Parton is a tobacco farmer. When she was 12, she was already appearing on Knoxville TV. At 13 she was already recording for a small record label and singing at Grand Ole Opry. She graduated high school in 1964 before moving to Nashville to start her country-singing journey. Carl Dean, an asphalt-paving businessman, fell in love with her, and they were married on May 30 in 1966. In 1967 , her singing attracted the attention of Porter Wagoner, who hired her to be a part of his program, The Porter Wagoner Show (1961). She was on the show for 7 years, their duets went viral, and she appeared with his band at the Grand Ole Opry; she also toured and sold records. Her hit "Joshua", which reached number one in 1970, was her biggest single. She chose to go on her own while she recorded duets with the singer. He was gone and she became a solo artist in 1974. Dolly gained immense popularity as a songwriter/singer. Dolly has won numerous Country Music Association awards (1968 1970, 1970, 1971, 1975, and 1976). She was a small (5'0") beauty, who was perfect for television. In the mid-1970s, Dolly was often appearing on talk-shows and specials on TV before being given her own show Dolly (1976). Dolly was awarded her first Grammy award in 1977 for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. Dolly made her movie debut in the film 9 to 5 in the year 1980. She received nominations for an Oscar for the title track and also for Grammy awards 2/3: Best Country Song and Best Female Country Vocal Performance. More fame came from her appearances in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982) and as and Rhinestone (1984) in which she sang the song "Tennessee Homesick Blues". Dolly Parton Enterprises, worth $100 million, is her chief. Dollywood was established in Pigeon Forge in Tennessee in 1986 to celebrate her Smoky Mountain heritage. She starred in the show Dolly (1987 TV Show) as herself. For "Trio" she won the Best Country Performance Duo or Group with Vocals Grammy in 1988.
